Harbinger of Books

Janet is hoping to just have a mundane life but of course that would never happen. Ansel a nighwalker (vampire) may or may not have killed his friend Laura, while Ansel is trying to fit the pieces of the story together the hunters have come to end Ansel's existence. Of course Janet cannot allow this and so she and Mick are off to try and figure out what really happened. The story of what really happened is far more complex and everyone (mages, dragons and the gods) all play a part in the mystery.

I am glad to see this series continue. In this story we see Mick and Janet a bit more settled. I really don't understand why he has so many secrets from Janet but I am hoping we get some revelation sooner than later. I missed the mirror in the book but I really liked Gabrielle, I am looking forward to reading about her in the future. I also liked the addition of Bear, she and coyote are quite odd but I liked them and hope they will be in future books.

While I really enjoyed this one it felt like something was missing, almost like this one was more like filler. Perhaps it was because Janet herself had nothing at stake but she was trying to help a friend. I am not really sure.

Even still a great book and I loved her self publishing price :-)
