MacRieve - Kresley Cole MacRieve was traumatized by a succubus as a child which also resulted in the death of his parents. MacRieve managed to live in a semi-normal state but then he is captured by the order and physically tortured. After he is free from the Order MacRieve is not so sure life is worth living. That is until he meets Chloe. Chloe is the daughter of Webb (who headed the order) and he believes he is in love with her. She is both a spunky and self-reliant soccer player. But Chloe is changing and she is changing into the one being MacReieve hates.

Personally the downfall of this book is the lack of the overall story arc. There really was no action or anything that had to do with the lore. Instead is MacReieve being a total jacka$$ to Chloe and Chloe trying to cope with the his verbal abuse. Then it is like all the sudden he turns the page.

The book is not bad and it certainly has it up points. I would dare to say you could almost read this as a stand alone. In the end this book is interesting because you get a little more insightful to hot and hotter and a quick peek into the Order but for me it was not enough.
