Untitled Downside Ghosts - Stacia Kane Chess finds herself in the middle of a case where the previous debunker has failed to close and apparently lost his mind in the process. Adding insult to injury the case is in Slobag's territory. At the same time there has been an unexplained murder in Bump's territory which seems like witchcraft is involved.

I think this book is probably the most emotional one of all the books. It is interesting to see how Chess continues to run from her past and she continues to think the worst about herself. All of this is supposed to support her actions as a drug abuser I guess. In many ways this still does not work for me. I get it you had a really crappy childhood but you have a stable job that you gain pride in and a relationship, that when you are not killing it with insecurity and trust issues it seems like this would be a point of character change.

The best part of the book was the relationship between Chess and Terrible. I like how he does not say a lot and how Chess seems to always think the worst. I actually think the relationship between Chess and Lex/Beulah was equally interesting, I do wonder what will happen there in the future, but I did miss Bump for some reason I find him very entertaining!

Plot wise the case was the weakest part of the book Chess was at times was TSTL and the case wrapped up rather oddly I think. For some reason this book reminded me of book two...clearly we are have a changing story arc and because book three could have ended the series so perfectly I am not sure what I truly expected in this one.

Overall I do not have any major complaints it was a good read and I am curious to see how the story will progress.
