Harbinger of Books

King of Darkness is about Thad, a vampire king who is seeking his mate in order to gain all of his powers and fulfill his destiny. He finds his queen Isabel in a night club and she does not necessarily want to be queen.

This story has a lot of subplots and it is setting the stage for the series to follow. Personally I did not think any of the characters were all that memorable and I never really cared about the sub plots. I don't think the story lines nor the characters were flushed out enough, It was like here is character A and she is in the situation then boom stuff happens.

Perhaps this is just a case of first book syndrome but it is unlikely I will read book two in order to figure it out.
