Primal Law: An Alpha Pack Novel - J.D. Tyler The Alpha Pack is a group of shifters, some are born that way and others were turned as a freak accident. They are out in the world trying to save mankind from monsters. Kira is a las assistant who stumbles on to a secret in her lab. When she goes to investigate Kira gets more than she bargains for and her life is place in danger. Enter Jax our hero of the story and a member of Alpha Pack. Together they learn about secrets, betrayal and love.

This is a decent story, I liked the alpha pack quite a bit and I want to know more about their individual stories. I also loved the writing I was drawn into the story right away without feeling like I had a big information dump.

The challenge I had with this book was it was a little overly ambitious and some things were left dangling. For example the relationship starts off between Jax and Kira really well and they are very passionate but when it comes to mating it is like oh no I need to control my destiny, which was odd considering how they both felt when they met. Another issue was all of the extra super powers not to mention we have shifters, a sorcerer/necromancer, witches, fae, and a gremlin the only thing we are missing is the demons and a vampire (who by the way is mentioned). I think my issue is not with the variety but the why. Why is a born shifter also a pre-cog? Why can another shifter create fire? Also how do they keep all this hidden from regular people? Last but not least is where do they get money? Without the why's things felt a bit disjointed.

I plan to continue with the series and I hope we get to learn a little more in the next book.
