A Sliver of Shadow (Abby Sinclair, #2) - Allison Pang Abby is adjusting to her new world, playing nanny along with the fae prince to her bosses half fae/half angel child. Then of course there is the unicorn who is also like a child. But this time someone had tried to get Abby to be her touchstone and take the position of Protectorate but Abby thinks something something is up and it is because the Fae Queen has closed the door between worlds.

For the most part this is a fun book. BUT there were a few things that I found irksome. For example why does the human with less years, familiarity with the immortal realm always figuring things out? Then there is the new love triangle. I really hate love triangles and this one in particular really sucks. First it is because it involves Ion which really that was love when in the first book their relationship consisted on 2 weeks of him using the crap out of her. Now that she seems to have the possibility of something better the dude is back and really it just makes Abby look weak and wishy washy. Taking me back to the first point which is if she cannot figure out these little things as they pertain to her how can she figure out how to unlock the secrets of the immortal world?

Other than that I was really into it. I liked the side stories and I hope we get to see more of Nobu. I also liked the new kitsune woman. The world building was great and all of the minor plots were quite good I look forward to the next one where I hope some of the nonsense will be worked out.
