Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) - Lisa Kleypas Annabelle is in dire straights in a desperate attempt to save her mother and brother from certain poverty Annabelle needs to marry a rich peer however she is not marriage material as she has no dowry and a lot of debt. At the end of her forth season things are looking grim but Annabelle finds herself among a group of wallflowers who are in a similar position though for different reasons. Together they come up with a plan to trap eligible bachelors and gain husbands.

Simon is the son of a butcher who has turned him into a self made millionaire. Despite his wealth the upper class of British society treat his with disdain. On the surface Simon is oblivious and non-caring about the former ton however he finds himself uncomfortably attracted to Annabelle.

This was a great story and Annabelle grows up, she learns to see the world beyond her own four corners and that was great. Simon is an interesting hero because he seems like he is afraid to want anything emotional and so he aims to accept what he can have. I also enjoyed watching Annabelle and Simon coming together. My biggest complaint is that we knew where Simon stood in the beginning but toward the end we loose his insight and that was something I was really interested in.
