The Secret Mistress was a wonderful surprise.
Lady Angeline is finally coming out after a two year set back and she is anxious to find a sensible man to marry. Angeline wants a sensible man because her parents did not have a happy union as her father kept mistresses and her two brothers who she loves dearly but are both a bit of a rake. On her way to London she encounters a man whose name she does not know and believes it to be love at first sight. Once Angeline comes to London and has her first party she comes face to face with her mystery man the Earl of Heyward, he is in fact steady, honorable and reliable. What happens next is what makes it a love story.
Really to me it is a classic love story the kind I like most, super syrupy sweet yet it was not cheesy but somewhat realistic. I like the ups and downs they have to go through are within themselves. I throughly enjoyed the writing and now I have to search for the rest of the series.
Just a note there are three books in this series and while it is listed as number three it is actually the prequel to More Than a MistressNo Man's Mistress
