Harbinger of Books

This book was really a 3.5. The storyline was very interesting (this is my first Breeds book) and I liked both of the two main characters. I think the first half of the book did a great job developing the characters and the plot was really interesting. However when the romance began everything else kind of came to a holt. I do not mind sex scenes in my book and the beginning they were really well written yet the story continued it seemed to do so without the plot and just became bad porn not even erotic. The chemistry just fizzled out between Megan and Braden it was odd because it seemed like Braden was imposing his will by this violent persona that we never see and his domination sexually which was not fully believable. Then there is our heroine Megan - a human with empathic abilities- her resistance is to Braden is silly especially when Braden makes it clear that he respects her and encourages her to be this free woman. At any rate the second half is held together by sex scenes and the complex plot that was so promising in the beginning is quickly resolved in a chapter or two at the end.

This is my first Breeds book and my introduction to Lora Leigh. I like the premise of her writing and the idea of these genetic beings so I do intend to read more. For me this book was not executed well and parts of the story were great it just did not come together for me
