Harbinger of Books

Joy and her best friend Roxy decide to travel to the Czech Republic for a Gothfare on Halloween. Roxy is a huge fan of a book series about Dark Ones, vampires (think the Carpathian series) and she is hoping to meet the author and perhaps some vampires. Joy on the other hand does not believe in vampires and is traveling just to support her friend. However as soon as they arrive Joy begins having visions of a vampire feeding and at the same time the vampire is attempting to woo her.

Overall the story has a good plot and at times it is funny. Having said that it moves far too slow and it had some major pot holes. The friend Roxy does not seem to have both oars in the water, her guesses where insane. I should also mention that I did not care for her in chapter one and the feeling just never changed. Joy on the other hand I had a love hate relationship with at times I thought she was spunky and sarcastic. Other times she was impetuous, pushy and just a pain insensitive.

I gave the book two stars because it was entertaining. Honestly it was not the worst book I have ever read but far the best.
