Harbinger of Books

Some stories are a journey, you read to a rising plot to see how it all works out. Other are all about the journey and the end of the book marks the beginning of your imagination.

The story moves quite slow and has a subtle suspense that unfolds the search for Dracula. I found the book quite interesting and the presentation of the Ottoman Empire and Eastern Europe's history rather enjoyable. I really liked the description of small details of this history, settings, characters, etc. for me it added layers and depth to a story told many many times before.

In the end the book lost a star because there were so many side plots that never ended or had a conclusion. Also the end was a bit of a let down.

All in all it was a good book.
