We all have different hobbies in life but my absolute favorite thing to do is pick up a book. This blog is dedicated to all of my ramblings.
I enjoy paranormal romance on occasion I think because it is so over the top and so unlike reality – well at least mine. Most of the time it is instant romance where you do not really even have to work at the relationship and then we get a lovely HEA. Recently I have been running into this theme of reincarnated heroines.

The very first time I read it was in the Dark Hunter books – Night Embraced. Our hero Talon has this unexplained attraction for Sunshine and he starts to think his lost love is back from the dead which he is not happy with then he gets to know Sunshine and falls in love with her. This story worked out for me I totally loved it.
The next time I saw it was in the Georgia Kincaid series with Seth. Throughout the entire series Georgia is in love with Seth and he is in love with her. Then at the end we find out Seth is actually Georgia’s reincarnated love from like a century ago. Awww no not really what a cop out you can’t be in love more than once??
Earlier this year I read Archangels Blade – where Dimitri figures out the love of his life has been reincarnated into Honor. Some say this story is really romantic because he has only had one true love and she is back so he is not alone. I say wow Honor got shafted it is only like Dimitri liked Honor for her past life…I mean it started out well two people looking for love but as soon as Dimitri figures out part of her is the original woman he loved it seemed like it stopped being about the Honor here and today.
Then this past month I read Archangel of Mercy – where Gabe figures out the women he thought he hated but now loves is none other than the first human woman he ever loved.
When I picked up a historical romance, The Warrior and it had reincarnated lovers I just put it down.
Maybe it is just me but it is not romantic to be the third wheel in your own relationship. Now I have not read a ton of these books so clearly I am not an expert but it seems like the woman who stands before our hero is insignificant compared to the one he lost and got back, sure she maybe a little smarter or stronger but for me it just belittles the relationship. Just not a fan!
