Review for Navarro's Promise

Navarro's Promise - Lora Leigh

Navarro was bred specifically to be a deceiver and to infiltrate without notice the side effect is that he does not have any emotions. Navarro and Mica have always thoughts they were mates but this time around emotions are needed for the mating heat to take hold but for two people who never deal with their emotions this is a problem.

I like that Ms. Leigh is changing it up a bit with the mating heat. The couple in this story are on one hand sweet and on the other annoying. Sweet because these are two strong willed people but they needed to figure out how to deal with their issues outside of the hormone. Annoying because I wanted them to actually reveal things to each other – like Navarro makes note of some of Mica’s behaviors but he never gets to the why of it all. Likewise I kept thinking Mica would open up to Navarro but nope she does the whole poor me routine.

The biggest complaint is the editing in this book. One minute a character is standing the next she is lying down – did I miss something? At first I thought it was me but nope that happened quite a bit. The other issue is at the end there is like a missing section during a pivotal scene – WTH?

The story was ok  but I wanted to learn more about the threat and what exactly is going on with Ely and Cassie? Both of them really need their own book.
